My name is Reena Sharma Kalia, I founded Life in London Trust in December 2018, in the memory of my Mother Indu Kiran Verma and my Brother Arun Kumar Sharma who both sadly passed away earlier that year in 2018.
Life in London Trust is based on their fundamental ethics and beliefs, teaching me the understanding of selfless acts of humanity by showing others love, care, kindness and support to those who are less fortunate than ourselves.
Our Board of Trustees, Team Leaders and Volunteers of all age groups share the same ethics and values of which the Trust is based on. Life in London Trust brings together the community regardless of your age, gender or race.
We welcome volunteers of all ages especially children and young people as we feel it is important for them to learn the meaning of humanity. The children and the young adults in our team always demonstrate support and kindness to others. We welcome students who re looking for voluntary work to complete their Duke of Edinburgh tasks to help complete their Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards. They are also awarded Life in London Trust Certificates.

Homeless projects are carried out on the first Saturday of the month. When Life in London Trust was first launched we were only able to do our homeless projects once every quarter. With the charity growing more and more every year with more volunteers joining, more interest from the local community, and more donations coming in. We are now able to extend our service and do monthly homeless projects. With the rise in more homeless sleeping on our streets each year it is important to give them the support they need as much we are able to.
We need continuous donations the more we receive the more we can help and make a difference in the lives of others and give them a reason to smile when they need it the most.

At Easter, we collect and donate Easter Eggs and arts and craft kits to Children’s homes, safe houses and hospices every year, We have donated approximately 14500 Easter eggs by reaching out on social media and the generosity of the general public and our sponsors.

We welcome volunteers from all ages, especially the youth who always come with such enthusiasm to help and donate their time to demonstrate support and kindness to others. Students that are looking for charity work experience for Duke of Edinburgh are always welcome and also are honoured with a Life in London Trust official certificate.

View AllAt Christmas, we donate Christmas gifts to Children’s homes and hospices, every year. We have donated approximately 700 gifts. By sharing information on our social media platforms we are able to get so many gifts donated to us.
We also at Christmas deliver survival packs to men’s and women hostels who have experienced domestic violence and reside in hostels, we are able to organise 50 to 60 survival packs each, from the donations we receive each year. With the raising awareness of our trust we aim to exceed this numbers.
30 Food Hampers were delivered to our elderly friends who were alone at Christmas. We also expanded this and delivered food items throughout this pandemic year when help was required and supporting them with everyday support.

Participated in a homeless project, walking the streets of London opened up my eyes to the poverty in our city and just how appreciative the people were.
Growing up, I always wanted to do something for the community but never knew where to start. A friend recommended me to this wonderful start up homeless charity that I am now part of. It is great to be part of a charity where we work on donating and handling over essential items to the homeless. Working with Life in London Trust has been good fun and they are a great group of people providing support to the London Community
I started volunteering with life in London trust 2 months ago. Having done previous charity work in the past I understand the struggles and hard work that goes into logistics, admin and organisation. After meeting LILT founder Reena I could see just how much love and passion has gone into the project. Organising the monthly homeless outreach work takes a lot of dedication and endless work, from fundraising to logistics. Whilst volunteering and seeing first hand the difference it has made to people’s lives, I know just how important the work of LILT is. The pandemic has meant so many more people are living homeless in London, with very little support. I am so honoured to be able to help LILT, it has given me a chance to make a difference to an issue I feel so strongly about.
